I say that as soon as people leave, they should be replaced by henchies.
That would solve a little bit of the problem. Just a little.

Please post your support for my proposal regarding rage quiters in this thread:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...d.php?t=142649
And in reply to someone who asked the question whether 12 vs 12 is like HoH:
No. It is completely different from HoH.
It is zone control, at the moment, for this beach map, there are 7 strategic points in the map.
Control a point, and you get bonuses, holding the points for a period of time will grant your team points.
Killing people, of course will give 1 point.
First team to score 500 points wins the battle.
Quote:
I propose the following changes:
- Allow single player to enter mission, these will act as replacements for the quiters who quit while the battle is still going on
- Allow teams of 4 to join in teams who has 4 or more quiters
Or, as proposed by DakAtak, fiery
- replace them with henchies
I wish to add on another proposal:
In the event that a player deserts the luxon vs kurschick battle, he will suffer a faction penalty(luxon or kurschick):
- 1,000 faction(luxon or kursick)
This 1,000 faction will be refunded if the following conditions are satisfied:
- he quits the battle, and logs out completely
- the total logged out time is at least an hour
This 1,000 faction will be gone for good if:
- the player quits the battle, and remains in game, without logging off
Negative factions(luxon or kusick) can be achieved, should this happen, the player is denied from participating in alliance battles, until faction(luxon or kusick) is positive again.
Look, its well damned normal for the luxons or kursicks to get pissed off if you desert their battles for no good damn reason.

go to guild hall, talk to the guy that has the battles next to his name (forget exactly what)
Or go through some of the new/ch2 PvE, and in one of the outposts theres the same guy

This is Base Defense . You do not want to get hit by that.
I love the 12 vs 12 Alliance Battles. Played many of them yesterday, and I'm a PvE'er at heart.

Reminds me SOO much of UT2004's Onslaught, where you capture key parts of a map and theres recaptures and regroups and sneak attacks. Ooodles of fun.
Sounds like Base Defense is equal to a redeemer :P

Playing a cripshot ranger in 12v12 is probably the most fun I've had in ages; you can dart around the map, solo almost everything, capture points, camp casters (esp. minionmasters and rits without resolve...tsk), spam cripshot on targets and annoying warriors...fun times indeed.
I haven't been able to land Distracting Shot on Base Defense yet, so I don't know if it works or not. I presume though that it's the mechanism is the same as claim resource, in that the skill is probably unaffected.

It does move, and so the map for 12v12 changes according to the line. I'm unsure as to when it moves; I presume it occurs after one faction wins x amount of battles on the current map. I've only seen two maps so far; that's probably all that's available in the FPE.

Another problem I've noticed with base defenders is that they tend to be lured WAY out of their base, and then just start slaughtering players not even remotely close to the rez spots.

Yes, 12v12 i'ts fun!. I like when they just rush in at the base defenders and die, The Base Defenders are easy to kill with a Minion Master.
Best thing is when you make a full guild group and play it organized, here is a screenshot

The alliance battles are very awsome...a way for anyone to be able to get into a massive battle, even by yourself.
So far I've played for the Luxons and I have been 3-1 with some preaty big wins...however I agree leavers can be a problem...
Still it is way to much fun not to care about...these Alliance battles is exactly what Guild Wars needed to get in the game...
